Keith Johnson finishes “the Troll”

As Keith Johnson continues work on his project to illustrate Philospher’s Stone, he has recently completed this (ahem) “delightful” image of the troll in the girl’s toilet. :D I’ve posted it on the Reader’s Guide for chapter 10.
Thank you Keith for sharing your paintings with us!

    lovable image!!

I’m not in love with the style, but I really like it anyway. What I like the most is the canon side of it. Very faithful, very alive. Keep going, Keith!

The art work is wonderful to see, with a great deal of attention given to detail. In the Ch.3 picture there is one tiny mistake. The letters all should have read ‘ Mr H.Potter, The Cupboard under the Stairs’, the picture has the letters reading, “Mr H. Potter, The Smallest Bedroom’

No, omikse, that’s not a mistake. :) Keith has it correct. If you check that chapter (The Letters From No One) you’ll find that after Harry is moved from his cupboard to Dudley’s second bedroom, the letters are then addressed to Mr. H. Potter, The Smallest Bedroom, 4 Privet Drive- … and that is where Harry was sleeping a few days later when the letters came pelting from the kitchen fireplace.

  • omikse

There are two different address given in chapter 3, of book 1….the first one is ‘Mr. H. Potter, The Cupboard under the Stairs,4 Privet Drive, Little Whining Surrey’, the second one is ‘Mr. H. Potter, Room 17, Railview Hotel, Cokeworth’…..I can find no address with “The Smallest Bedroom’ in chapter 3 of book 1.

  • omikse

    I apologize…..I was wrong….

Don’t feel badly, omikse! That’s what the Lexicon is here for! :)

  • omikse

Really, all three of the addresses were used in chapter 3…..nothing like being wrong and right at the same time..LOL

That’s right! and we here at the Lexicon always value that kind of inquiry and quest for exacting details. :)

That pic was amazing. Keep up the good work

  • CocoBean

Does anybody else find it funny that the troll’s wearing flowered pants? :)

  • Remi

Particularly since I have virtually zero talent for drawing, I’m incredibly impressed. But shouldn’t the kids be wearing robes? (although creative liberty is always allowed and encouraged.) :)

  • kamion

Now that’s a TROLL, no flimsy ugly dumbo, but a real troll, it must be spending a lot of time just sitting and thinking what to think next with all tha moss growing on him.
    perfect.

  • severusisn’tevil

Wow, how realistic, and yet cartoony. Must have taken a long time.
    Cool.

  • Aberforth

Some troll!! Mind you, I find it hard to imagine that one getting through the door into the bathroom LOL

  • sstabeler

you mean to say the troll didn’t simply knock the wall out of it’s way? I’d say even a locked door wouldn’t stop the troll

  • Ari Jay

Is it just me or does it look like that troll is wearing lederhosen? lol

  • John

I’m loving all your work, the artistic style is great: somewhat exagerated (imo), but nothing too extreme. This is one of the best yet.
