How to use the Search Page
The Search Page is the default page for the Canon Portkey.
Before you perform a Search, we recommend that you log-in
first so that
you will retain your Page Display Settings.
There are several ways to do a Search in the Canon Portkey:
- Use the Search Box - Just type in the keywords you're
looking for in the Search box and click "Hold on tight!"
- Use the Book Outlines - If you're searching for a specific
event that happened in the books, the Book Outlines might be more convenient
for you to use. They are already listed by chapter, and the Event Headings
will help you recall key parts in the book to make it easier for you to find
the Event you're looking for.
- The tag and icon pickers - A tool that lets you select
pre-programmed sets of canon information. To see this tool, click on "More
search tools," below "New user? click here!"
Once the results of the search have been displayed, you can do several things:
- Search within these results - Narrow your search further by checking the
Events you're interested in, click on "Search within these results" and
type in your Search Keyword and any tags you may want to search for. The
Portkey will search for these keywords and tags within the Events you have
selected and checked.
- Display selected records - If your search outputs too many results, you
can make exploring the resulting Events more manageable by just checking
the Events you're interested in, and clicking "Display selected records".
- Click on the gray heart
to
add that Event to your Favorites; it will turn red
when
it is saved to your account.
