Chaos Reigns on Exmoor for Falcons & Pride of Portree

"Angry scenes resulted, and the somewhat lacklustre performance of the Falcons was therefore missed by most of the crowd."

Chaos Reigns on Exmoor for Falcons & Pride of Portree

Chaos Reigns on Exmoor for Falcons & Pride of Portree is an article in the Sports section of the Daily Prophet (DP2).

The Prophet reported on the fiasco that took place during the Quidditch match between the Falmouth Falcons and Pride of Portree on Exmoor.

The Ministry of Magic’s Department of Magical Sports and Games had advertised that an Invisibility spell would be used on the stadium. They further advised that Re-Visibility Spectacles were going to be needed that evening (DP1). However, many fans were unable to find the stadium – or else they could not see the match even while using the Ministry-supplied glasses (DP2).

Notes

If you can't see the pitch or the opposing team, then the resulting confusion is not a surprise. The other unsurprising thing is that the Ministry of Magic doesn't always realise what kind of mess their problem solutions are going to cause.

Although the date printed on the second Daily Prophet Newsletter (DP2) is 8 February 1999, the timeframe for this event is 1992-1993.
