Quidditch (which arrived in the early 1600s) has been traditionally played by all other countries except the United States, as wizards living in the US preferred the American broom game variant of Quodpot. It has achieved greater popularity following US team participation in the Quidditch World Cup tournaments and the United States Cup (QA8, Pm).

North and South American has some of the best teams in the world, particularly those from Canada and Peru (QA8).
