Lockhart's idea of a Valentine's Day treat was to send his "friendly, card-carrying cupids" roving about the school all day on Valentine's Day delivering cards and singing love messages to various students (CS13). One of the nasty-tempered dwarves tackled Harry in the hall and sat on his legs to sing him this song.
