Well, here’s another tiny little mystery cleared up. I have just received word from a very reliable source that this sentence of Fudge’s on page 613 of the UK version of Goblet of Fire is incorrect:
“You’ll forgive me, Dumbledore, but I’ve heard of a curse scar acting as an alarm bell before…”
The correct version of that sentence is the one that appears in the US edition (on page 706). It should read:
“You’ll forgive me, Dumbledore, but I’ve never heard of a curse scar acting as an alarm bell before…”
I know, it’s not a big deal, but this particular discrepency has generated some debate on the forums over the past few years and I thought it would be nice to get it cleared up.
