Did you notice the new look to our What’s New page?
Several months ago we told you about the new design we were working on, and that we’d try to have a large section converted in time for Book 7. Unfortunately that was my task and I have had an unusually busy spring (new job, visiting family, last-minute trips for work, not to mention all the developments over on my other site, Accio Quote!). But here on this page, finally, is a sample for your delectation; the evocative artwork is by Camilla Engelby. Soon I will start converting my character pages and then gradually the rest of the site.
You like? Is the load time acceptable after you’ve loaded it once? Based on comments to the earlier post, we will also be working on a low graphics version.
A note about the navigation. We decided that we couldn’t launch the new navigation until most of the site had been switched over because the disconnect between old and new was just too disconcerting. So what you see on the left is just for the interim and combines the old at the top and the new at the bottom. Hint: click on “Magic” on the left and you will get a preview of our new “gateway” pages. When we get the most-visited sections of the site converted we will launch the new navigation.
We have another, much larger surprise in the works. Just you wait!
