    • NOTE ON LOCATION OF AZKABAN: According to JKR, Azkaban is located far to the north in the North Sea, and I have placed it there on this map. There has been some question about why Sirius would have travelled all the way to Little Whinging upon coming ashore, on the assumption that he should have gone straight to Hogwarts. However, Sirius escaped from Azkaban in the last week of July. School was not in session at that time, so Sirius would have logically headed for the south of Britain, to Devon and the Burrow. Along the way, it is very likely that he would have checked up on Harry, just to be sure he was okay.
