Lavender believes the receipt of this news (on the sixteenth of October) is the fulfillment of Trelanwey’s prediction “That thing you’re dreading, it will happen on the sixteenth of October” (PA6, PA8). Trying to talk sense into Lavender, Hermione says that Binky had not actually died on the sixteenth - but earlier (PA8). If she is right, Binky probably dies a day or two before the sixteenth.
