Notes
The dates given for Waffling (1899-1981) do not work when we learn in DH2 that Dumbledore corresponded with him while in school. Dumbledore had left Hogwarts by the time Waffling was born, according to these dates.
Waffling's death occurred in a pivotal year in Wizarding history. 1981 was the year of Voldemort's initial defeat Harry when he was a baby.
