The Railview Hotel is a gloomy-looking Muggle establishment in or near Cokeworth to which Vernon Dursley took his family while attempting to avoid Harry’s Hogwarts letters (PS3). Of course, the letters found him there anyway – when the family woke up in the morning, the woman behind the desk told them she’d received about a hundred of the letters overnight.
While there, Dudley and Harry shared room 17, which had twin beds and damp, musty sheets. Breakfast in the dining room consisted of stale cornflakes and cold tinned tomatoes on toast (PS3).

The name of the hotel suggests its location, near a railyard or depot, which also suggests the low quality of the place.
