References from the canon

• Gilderoy Lockhart made heart-shaped confetti fall from the ceiling in the Great Hall on Valentine's Day, and also had dwarfs dressed as Cupids tossing it around (CS13).
• Harry and Cho Chang encountered golden cherubs throwing confetti in Madam Puddifoot's tea shop in Hogsmeade. The effect plus pink ribbons and bows  unfortunately reminded Harry of Umbridge's office (OP25).
