Students at Beauxbatons come from many countries from Western Europe, including Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, and The Netherlands. Nicolas Flamel met his wife, Perenelle. A fountain in the school’s park is named for them. Beauxbatons has a larger student population than Hogwarts (Pm).
Instead of sitting Ordinary Wizarding Levels or their equivalent at the end of five years, Academy students sit exams after six years (HBP5).
Beauxbatons students wear uniforms of fine silk. Some of the girls wear headscarves (GF16).

Notes
The mention of female pupils wearing headscarves is interesting. Throughout the 1990s, the question of whether to allow Muslim students to wear the hijab in France's public schools was the subject of ongoing debate and controversy (source: Wikipedia). This little detail could be an instance of Rowling inserting her views about real-world policy into her books. -BB
In the film, it is implied that Beauxbatons is an all-girls school, but this is not canon.
