The Harry Potter Canon

Magic is integrated into society and wizards are held in esteem. Egyptian wizards put curses on tombs; nowadays curse-breakers for Gringotts try to regain the treasure locked in those tombs. One pyramid has mutant skeletons of Muggles who’d broken in and “grown extra heads and stuff” (as Ron puts it). Hermione was jealous of Ron’s visit, saying  “Did you see that picture of Ron and his family a week ago? I bet he’s learning loads. I’m really jealous — the ancient Egyptian wizards were fascinating.” (PA3)
