Death Hogwarts Love and friendship

Scorpius Malfoy pursues Rose; Harry Potter and Albus talk about pasts and futures

"….the thing that scares me most…. is being a dad to you. Because I'm operating without wires here. Most people at least have a dad to base themselves on…."
-- Harry Potter (CC4.15)

Scorpius Malfoy comes into a classroom with Albus Potter after asking Rose Granger-Weasley out on a date. She refused, but he thinks she might be a bit friendlier to him than she was before:

“I asked her. I planted the acorn. The acorn that will grow into our eventual marriage.”
“You are aware that you’re an utter fantasist.” (CC4.14)

Although he and Albus have previously said they hated Quidditch, Scorpius now thinks he might try out for the Slytherin Quidditch Team. When he asks Albus to come and watch a game that afternoon, Albus declines. His father Harry is coming to see him at school:

“I think it’s a bonding thing or something similarly vomit-inducing. Still, you know, I think I’ll go.” (CC4.14).

Harry Potter and Albus walk up a hill near Hogwarts. They talk about how they feel, their relationship, past mistakes and future hopes. Stopping at a graveyard they visit Cedric Diggory’s grave. Harry says that he often visits to remember Cedric, who he didn’t know well enough, and to say “sorry”. He asks whether Albus knew the dead boy Craig Bowker Jr very well. They feel at peace with each other (CC4.15).

Notes

Life is back to "normal". The teenagers are being teenagers, and are growing up. Scorpius teases Albus that his girlfriend will be "that new smoky-eyed Potions professor - she's old enough for you, right?". Rose says to Scorpius: "This is only going to be weird if you let it be weird.... Scorpion King" (CC4.14).

Both Harry and Albus have learned a lot about themselves and each other.

"I thought I'd lost him - Voldemort.... and I started to feel like I'd not changed at all.... but it wasn't enough to be physically rid of him - I had to be mentally rid of him. And that - is a lot to learn for a forty-year-old man." (CC4.15)

Albus compares himself to his brother James and thinks that his father and James are similar, but Harry disagrees:

"....you’re more like your mum - bold, fierce, funny.... which I think makes you a pretty great son."
"I almost destroyed the world."
"Delphi wasn’t going anywhere.... you brought her out into the light and you found a way for us to fight her." (CC4.15)
