A Gorgon is a magical creature from Greek mythology. Looking at a Gorgon turns the viewer into stone. It is therefore very important not to meet a Gorgon’s eyes at any time.

The wizard Morgan is turned into stone by a Gorgon he is trying to capture, as recounted in “The Rhyme of Gormless Morgan” (BoS).
