A man who was in love with her was sent on a mission to find her, but she refused to return to Hogwarts, and in a fit of anger he killed both her and himself. Helena Ravenclaw became the ghost known as The Grey Lady, and the killer became the ghost known as The Bloody Baron (DH31).
