"Sent owls off ter all yer parents' old school friends, askin' fer photos... knew yeh didn' have any." -- Rubeus Hagrid (PS17)
As a going-away present at the end of Harry’s first year, Hagrid put together a leather-bound photo album filled with magical moving photographs of Harry’s parents, James and Lily Potter, “smiling and waving” (PS17).
- Hagrid had written to friends of Harry's parents in order to collect the photographs, but the friends were not named (PS17).
- The book included a picture of James and Lily's on their wedding day, along with Harry's godfather Sirius Black (PA11).
- Harry packed the photo album in his rucksack as he was leaving the Dursleys for the last time (DH2), and looked through it just before he and Hermione visited Godric's Hollow where his parents died (DH16).
