Transfiguration classroom

"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
-- Professor McGonagall (PS8)

Transfiguration classroom

This classroom, where McGonagall teaches Transfiguration, was filled with separate desks for each student (CS16). It also had a teacher’s desk (PS8). Its location is unknown, although it is located “miles away” from the third-floor Defence Against the Dark Arts office (OP32). Harry, with Ron and Hermione’s help, used this classroom during lunch break to practice spells for the upcoming Triwizard Tournament tasks (GF31).

Teacher: Professor Minerva McGonagall

Textbooks: A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, Intermediate Transfiguration, Guide to Advanced Transfiguration

About the class: Classwork includes lectures and practical, such as changing beetles into buttons. (See Transfiguration page for details on the specific lessons, or the calendar pages for the individual books.)
