Wizarding Schools Potions Championship

The Wizarding Schools Potions Championship was a competition held to challenge potion-makers to prove their potion-making skills by completing various challenges and brewing various potions. The winner received a gold cauldron.

The championship is held in an enchanted garden. Students use their potioneering skills to overcome various obstacles, including fantastical beasts, while working to win the Golden Cauldron for Hogwarts. The Wizarding Schools Potions Championship is held every seven years and has been held since 1407.

One of the winners of the competition was a Hogwarts student, who used Zygmunt Budge's Book of Potions to help secure the win. The competitors of the Hogwarts champion were a Russian Koldovstoretz student, a Japanese Mahoutokoro School of Magic student, and an African Uagadou School of Magic student.

This competition and the new information released related to it is from the Wonderbook: Book of Potions, a video game released by Sony and Pottermore in 2013. It's based on the Book of Potions by Zygmunt Budge, a fictional book created just for this game.

Potions Connection

The competition is all about potion-making and various potions are brewed during the competition.
