Ron was busy building a card castle out of his Exploding Snap pack--a much more interesting pastime than with Muggle cards, because of the chance that the whole thing would blow up at any second.
In some of the video games you can play Exploding Snap. The cards are five-sided with a pentagon shape with pictures from some of the Famous Wizard and Creature Cards. They are stacked up face-down in front of you, and turned over one at at time. When the two on top match, you touch them with a wand and they are removed from the pile. If you don't do it quickly enough, they can explode. A variation is called "Patience," and is a simple memory game. The cards are laid out flat and you turn over two at a time to get matches.
