Spell-Checking/Spell-Check quill

A quill that corrects the writer’s spelling of words.

  • Sold at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (HBP6)
  • Ron used one for a while during his sixth year, but the charm was wearing off by April. After that, its spelling was worse than he would have managed on his own (HBP21)

Commentary

Notes

Ron's spelling quill creates one of the funniest situations in the story. When Harry shows Snape, Ron's book and the name on the book says Roonil Wazlib because they spelling quill was wearing off. What's more humourous is that Harry tries to pass that off as his nickname.
