MACUSA The Rise of Grindelwald

Pentagram Office

The Pentagram Office is a large hall of impressive size inside MACUSA Headquarters, arranged for parliamentary debating. There is a large 5-pointed star, or pentagram, painted on the floor.

  • Tina Goldstein brought Newt Scamander and No-Maj Jacob Kowalski to the Pentagram Room where various witches and wizards from around the world were debating what to do about Gellert Grindelwald and the mysterious force that was threatening New York. A projection of the body of Senator Shaw was floating around the room for all to see. The trio was questioned by President Serafina Picquery before being arrested and taken to an Interrogation Room by Percival Graves (WFT).

Notes

A Pentagram is sometimes considered a modern occult symbol used in dark rituals. But the five-pointed star can also be a symbol of the five senses, the five joys of the Virgin Mary, the five wounds of Jesus Christ, or the five virtues of knighthood. The Order of the Eastern Star, a group connected to Freemasonry, uses the star as their symbol. In Chinese symbolism, the pentagram represents the five elements or phases of matter - Fire (火 huǒ), Earth (土 tǔ), Metal (金 jīn), Water (水 shuǐ), and Wood (木 mù) - which also correspond to signs of the Chinese Zodiac.
