"A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects its owner’s emotional state."
-- Mr. Ollivander (Pm)

A wand wood (Pm).

  • When the owner of a hazel wand dies, often the wand "wilts" and dies too, especially if it contains a unicorn tail hair (Pm).
  • This wood can absorb the owner's emotions, so care should be taken in handling an unstable hazel wand (Pm).
  • Hazel wand wood has a sensitivity for underground water, and will "emit silvery, tear-shaped puffs of smoke if passing over concealed springs and wells" (Pm).
