Fountain of Magical Brethren

"...the fountain we destroyed tonight told a lie. We wizards have mistreated and abused our fellows for too long, and we are now reaping our reward."
-- Dumbledore (OP37)

A large fountain located in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic. Standing in the midst of of the fountain’s pool are a group of larger-than-life-sized golden statues depicting a wizard and witch surrounded by a centaur, a goblin, and a house-elf. The witch and wizard are standing heroically while the non-Wizard beings are looking up admiringly at them. Witches and wizards toss coins in the pool (OP7). The fountain was badly damaged during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries when Dumbledore and Voldemort dueled in the Atrium (OP36).

During the takeover of the Ministry by the Death Eaters, the fountain was replaced with a statue made of black stone depicting a witch and wizard sitting on thrones. The statue bears the inscription MAGIC IS MIGHT and the thrones are actually carved stone figures of Muggles, twisted together into the shape of chairs (DH12).
