Gringotts Dragon Feeders

"They say there’s dragons guardin’ the high-security vaults"
-- Rubeus Hagrid (PS5)

Gringotts Dragon Feeders

Gringotts Dragon Feeders, with a salary of 7 Galleons per week, are advertised for in the Daily Prophet. The position offers an opportunity to work for Gringotts Wizarding Bank in Diagon Alley (DP2).

Notes and interesting facts

The notice appears on the Classified Advertisements page of the Daily Prophet, in the section headed "Jobs" (DP2).

The stated requirements are few - no previous experience or academic qualifications. Potential candidates need to apply in writing (DP2).

Gringotts provide the the dragon feeders with fireproof clothing to wear (DP2).

They also require the names of the applicant's next of kin (DP2) - it certainly sounds as if the successful candidates don't last long in the post.

Harry doesn't see any of the dragons who guard the vaults in Gringotts the first time he visits with Hagrid, although he thought something might be "a burst of fire at the end of a passage" that could have been one (PS5).

When Harry, Ron and Hermione escape Gringotts after taking Helga Hufflepuff's cup, they get away on the back of a blind Gringotts dragon driven to madness by the sound of clankers (DH27).
