"....there had been a spot of bother at the Kwidditch (or that was what it had sounded like) World Cup and that several Muggles had been "involved" but that the Prime Minister was not to worry...."
-- The Muggle Prime Minister thinking about his interactions with the Wizarding world (HBP1)
Early spelling of Quidditch in the 1100s letter by Goodwin Kneen (QA3).
This was also the Muggle Prime Minister’s guess for the spelling of “Quidditch” at the time of the Dark Mark incident after the 1994 Quidditch World Cup (HBP1).
Notes and interesting facts:
- The match mentioned in Goodwin Kneen's letter to his Norwegian cousin Olaf was a local one between two teams from Yorkshire, the opposing team coming from Ilkley (QA3).
- Almost as an afterthought, Fudge also let the Muggle Prime Minister know that they were "importing three foreign dragons and a sphinx for the Triwizard Tournament, quite routine...." (HBP1).
