Ravenclaw Quidditch Team

"And Davies takes the Quaffle immediately, Ravenclaw Captain Davies with the Quaffle, he dodges Johnson, he dodges Bell, he dodges Spinnet as well… he's going straight for goal! He's going to shoot - and - and - and he's scored."
--Lee Jordan (OP30)

Ravenclaw Quidditch Team

The Ravenclaw Quidditch Team of Hogwarts is drawn from the students of Ravenclaw House. The team wear robes of blue and bronze.

Their Quidditch team during the 1993-1994 school year was really good. They managed to lighten Harry’s mood when they “flattened Hufflepuff in their Quidditch match at the end of November” (PA10).

Not only was the whole Gryffindor Quidditch team worried about their standings that year – of winning against Ravenclaw – Harry had yet to pick out a broom to play in that match. “The match against Ravenclaw was drawing nearer and nearer, but Harry still hadn’t ordered a new broom” (PA12).

Cho Chang is revealed to be Ravenclaw’s Seeker in PA:

“Harry, I’ve just found out who Ravenclaw is playing as Seeker. It’s Cho Chang. She’s a fourth year, and she’s pretty good. . . . I really hoped she wouldn’t be fit, she’s had some problems with injuries. . . . On the other hand, she rides a Comet Two Sixty, which is going to look like a joke next to the Firebolt.”
— Oliver Wood (PA13)

Draco Malfoy tries to sabotage Harry’s game in the Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw match:

“Harry hadn’t forgotten Malfoy’s attempt to sabotage him in the match against Ravenclaw, but it was the matter of Buckbeak that made him most determined to beat Malfoy in front of the entire school.” (PA15).

Harry Potter thinks they can defeat Ravenclaw during the 1996-1997 school year, as he tells Katie Bell: “Well, now you’re back and Ron’s fit, we’ll have a decent chance of thrashing Ravenclaw, which means we could still be in the running for the Cup. Listen, Katie . . .” (HBP24).

The Gryffindor-Ravenclaw match in the 1996-1997 school year is very important:

“Ron was not unique in this respect; interest in the Gryffindor-Ravenclaw game was running extremely high throughout the school, for the match would decide the Championship, which was still wide open. If Gryffindor beat Ravenclaw by a margin of three hundred points (a tall order, and yet Harry had never known his team to fly better) then they would win the Championship. If they won by less than three hundred points, they would come second to Ravenclaw; if they lost by a hundred points they would be third behind Hufflepuff and if they lost by more than a hundred, they would be in fourth place and nobody, Harry thought, would ever, ever let him forget that it had been he who had captained Gryffindor to their first bottom-of-the-table defeat in two centuries.” (HBP24)

Notes

The Ravenclaw Quidditch team is the only team not represented in the films. Along with the controversy in the books and films with the blue-bronze and blue-silver colors of Ravenclaw House, the video games represent the blue-silver colors, not the canon blue-bronze.
